Job Title: Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server, Snowflake & Data Lake)

Role Overview
This role involves providing critical production support for key applications, assisting with SQL Server database administration, and collaborating with the application development team on database requests. The Administrator will participate in disaster recovery processes, assist with database upgrades, security patches, and performance tuning, and address compliance issues related to database access, security, and configuration. Additionally, the role includes supporting day-to-day production operations, troubleshooting performance issues and software bugs, setting up system threshold alerts, creating performance metrics, and providing DBA support for the Snowflake data lake environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide critical production support for applications including DTE, Finder, and Fairfax.
- Assist with SQL Server database administration tasks.
- Collaborate with the application development team on database-related requests.
- Participate in the Disaster Recovery process.
- Support database upgrades, security patches, and performance issue resolution.
- Address compliance issues, particularly those related to database access, security, and configuration.
- Support day-to-day production operations, including troubleshooting performance issues and software bugs.
- Set up alerts for database system thresholds.
- Create metrics for system performance.
- Assist with DBA support for the Snowflake data lake environment.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
- Highly skilled in SQL Server database design, installations, and conversions.
- Professional experience being responsible for database backup and recovery procedures.
- Professional experience with access security and database integrity.
- Professional experience with physical data storage design and data storage management.
- Experience with Snowflake.
- Experience with Data Lake.
