Job Title: Senior Business Analyst (Middleware & Data Interface Modernization)

Role Overview
An experienced Business Analyst is sought to drive interface and file transfer modernization efforts. The role requires strong skills in requirements analysis, stakeholder coordination, documentation, and process alignment within an IT services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead outreach and coordination with third-party interface partners to support migration activities off the mainframe platform, including initiating contact, scheduling discussions, confirming testing availability, and maintaining ongoing communication throughout the transition.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all interfaces, file transfers, and stakeholders affected by the migration, utilizing prior project documentation, templates, and standards provided by the organization to ensure clarity and completeness.
• Coordinate technical planning and collaborate with mainframe (JCL) teams, middleware specialists (e.g., Axway), and distributed platform engineers to align with partner requirements regarding file formats, triggers, and batch execution windows.
• Manage the migration schedule, adapting plans based on vendor responsiveness and internal resource availability, and drive timely execution across multiple teams.
• Oversee SFTP environment setup and testing cycles, ensuring successful authentication, file delivery, and processing based on partner capabilities.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of IT experience with specialization in middleware platforms (e.g., Axway or equivalent).
• Knowledge of mainframe batch job structures, JCL, job triggers, and scheduling concepts.
• Experience with SFTP configuration, folder provisioning, secure key/credential management, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of interface design, file format requirements, and data exchange dependencies.
• Proficiency in documentation tools such as Visio, Azure, and ALM Octane for creating document artifacts.
• Ability to analyze and create comprehensive Interface Control Details (ICD) covering connection details (DNS, ports, protocols), folder paths, naming conventions, trigger points for file generation or expectation, and expected success/failure indicators (ACKs, error codes).
• Strong documentation skills for complex data flows, including clear diagrams for file sources, destinations, triggers, schedules, error handling, partner escalations, SLAs, and maintaining accurate inventories of interfaces and file transfers.
• Ability to track complex migration tasks end-to-end.
• Ability to interact effectively with external vendors, business partners, and senior-level stakeholders.
